A former Member of Parliament (MP) for Salaga South Constituency in the Northern region Alhaji Ibrahim Dey appears to have not finished grieving over his loss at the December 7, 2016 polls.

He believes a former National Security Advisor to the president and some bigwigs within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) orchestrated the defeat in his reelection bid to parliament and has vowed to face-off with them.

The former lawmaker said this in a leaked telephone conversation contained in a petition to the Kwesi Botchwey-led committee investigating the circumstances that led to the poor performance of NDC in the 2016 general elections.

He said Baba Kamara sponsored the independent candidate Janda Adams Mahama against him which led to his loss. “I will make sure he Baba Kamara pays dearly for that. He will go to jail for 20 years” he boasted.

He accused the former security advisor of hoarding items meant for campaign in his house and that he did not support him with a penny but rather lavished money on the independent candidate.

“He never liked me and always prayed for my downfall. No wonder he advised the president against my appointment as a local government minister “he added.

The former MP also described the former president John Dramani Mahama in the audio as a sick person and a non-serious human being for listening to Kamara.

Alhaji Ibrahim Dey is however challenging the EC confirmed results of the 2016 general elections at the Tamale High court on the basis of over voting.
